Sail from Palma

Palma is the nautical heart of Mallorca. A capital with a historic port, modern marinas and the Mediterranean's most emblematic bay. From here you have direct access to Cala Mayor, Illetas, Portals Vells and the entire west coast to Port Adriano. Renting a boat in Palma means setting sail from the island's centre, with La Seu cathedral as your backdrop, and choosing your course: quiet coves to the west, cosmopolitan atmosphere in Portals or sheltered bays to the east. Palma's marinas —from Puerto Portals to Marina Cuarentena and Club de Mar— offer all the amenities to start your day on the water on the right foot.

All-inclusive on every trip

Every rental includes a professional local skipper who knows the best anchorages, the bay's currents and where to find calm waters depending on the wind. Fuel, insurance, cleaning and personalised route are on us. Most boats carry a cooler with drinks, snorkel equipment and everything you need to spend the day on the water. You set the pace: whether you prefer exploring several coves, anchoring off Illetas or sailing to the Malgrats, we adapt.

Favourite routes from Palma

  • Illetas and Cala Comtessa: Crystal-clear waters just minutes from the bay. White sand, relaxed atmosphere and views of the city from the sea. Perfect for a morning swim before continuing your route.
  • Portals Vells and El Mago: Sheltered coves to the southwest, surrounded by pine forest. Turquoise water, natural caves and that wild feel hard to find so close to the capital.
  • Puerto Portals and Portals Nous: Luxury marina, waterfront restaurants and cosmopolitan vibe. Ideal for combining sailing with a stop for lunch or drinks.
  • Malgrats Islands: Two uninhabited islets off Santa Ponça. Deep waters, top-level snorkelling and a different perspective of Mallorca's west coast.

Types of boats available

From agile motorboats and RIBs to explore several coves in one day, traditional Mallorcan llaüts with the island's authentic charm, stable and spacious catamarans for groups or families, to sailboats and yachts for those who want to make sailing a complete experience. Palma has Mallorca's largest fleet. If you're unsure which boat to choose, we'll help you find the one that best fits your plan.

When to book?

Summer (June to September) is high season: calm seas, guaranteed sunshine and the coves at their best. But spring and autumn offer mild temperatures, fewer people on the water and better prices. Palma bay works all year round thanks to its natural protection and modern marinas. Book ahead in July and August; the rest of the year there's more flexibility. Weekends always book up first.
