Sail Altea

Altea is the white village on the Costa Blanca that few tourists actually get to know. Just ~50 km from Alicante, you've got one of the most genuine corners of the province: the whitewashed old town with its blue church included, and right across the way, Sierra Helada guarding virgin coves that you really only reach properly by sea. No cruise ships here, no mass tourism. You come to sail, dive in clean waters, eat at small beach bars, and figure out why local fishermen always come back to the same coves.

Everything included in every outing

Every rental comes with a local professional skipper, fuel, insurance, cleaning, and a route tailored to your taste. Most boats have snorkel gear and a cooler with drinks on board. You call the pace and the stops.

Favorite routes from Altea

  • Sierra Helada: Spectacular cliff with hidden coves, crystal-clear waters, and plenty of marine life. A must-stop for photos and diving.
  • Cala del Mascarat: Fine sand, turquoise water, and easy access. The favorite spot for local families sailing from Altea.
  • Cap Negret: Dark rocky outcrop that marks a unique landmark, with rocky seabeds perfect for deeper snorkeling.
  • Peñón de Ifach (Calpe): One-of-a-kind natural monument, ideal for sailing around and shooting photos from the water. It's ~15 minutes from Altea.

Available boat types

From fast speedboats and RIBs to cover distance, llaüts and traditional boats, catamarans for groups, all the way to yachts and sailboats for a full day. If you're unsure which boat fits the bill, we'll point you in the right direction.

When should you book?

Altea has sailing practically year-round, but spring and autumn are the sweet spot: clear water, nice temps, and less of a crowd. Summer fills up, so if you're going then, book ahead. Winter is peaceful if you like the sea to yourself and calm conditions.
